A NEW CROSS / ASHES : A/W 15 : LOOK BOOK PREVIEW

a new cross fw15 9A special preview of looks from the upcoming A/W Collection by young Columbian design couple A NEW CROSS. The pictures of the new unisex pieces are made more special by the female half of the duo : Vanessa wearing all the pieces effortlessly and transcending any male / female only clothing divide. The male model bringing the extra masculine edge and balance to the proceedings. Designers who actually wear and look good in their own designs is a too rare thing and a necessary one to ensure wearability in our opinion.

VLADES : CHOSUN : CONCEPTUAL IMAGES

conceptual image project_10

The concept of the Vlades A/W 15 Collection is based on the idea of Chosun.
The name Chosun refers to the ancient country which existed where the modern
Korean peninsula is now. Twenty seven different kings ruled over it for 518 years in total.
Some of the collection’s feel and direction was inspired by images , incidents and even castles still existing from this 19th Century period. The materials include those often used in the traditional Korean Hanbok style of dress , heavy wools and different leathers

Colors such as white, grey, red, black all have various deeper meanings in Korea. Many of the items also carry extra meanings in their design : A Leather jacket uses a ‘lone of scar’ technique to connect 2 different material in a way to represent the division between the North and South of the modern country .The finished line of the stitching even looks like the silhouette of ancient roofs.

The aim was to express elements of both the past and present harmonically in the collection and in so doing create a new . unique vision for the future.
