“I am inspired by the shapes and forms of the more permanent matter that lingers after mortal death; human and animal bone, horn and teeth. Elements that have been reshaped and reused throughout history in the form of adornment, bringing new life to inanimate ‘dead’ matter…Being the daughter of an architect, the ‘less is more’ philosophy of modernist Mies von der Rohe is ever at the forefront of my mind in terms of application.”
